The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) and Sciences Po and are delighted to be working with the Mastercard Foundation, which funded this research project. As a reminder, the Mastercard Foundation continuously works with governments, the private sector, other funders and young people to develop, research and test new ideas to best empower young people on the African continent to make the most of their skills and talents.

The Mastercard Foundation is one of the largest foundations in the world and works almost exclusively in Africa. It was established in 2006 by Mastercard International and operates independently under the direction of its own Board of Directors.
The Mastercard Foundation has developed a long-term plan for each of its partner countries that includes the following:
Improve the quality of education and training to give young people the skills employers need,
Leverage technology to bring employers and job seekers together to foster growth;and
Empower entrepreneurs and small businesses to expand by providing access to financial services.
